Assatur Khachatryan Wins Bronze at European U17 Weightlifting Championships

Armenian youth weightlifting team member Assatur Khachatryan has added another medal to the national team’s tally at the European Championships currently taking place in Kosovo.
On the fifth day of competition, the boys in the 70 kg weight category took to the platform. The Armenian representative produced a strong performance in the clean and jerk and secured a bronze medal in the event.
In the snatch, Khachatryan first lifted 115 kg before successfully completing a 119 kg attempt. In the clean and jerk, the Armenian weightlifter recorded two successful lifts of 145 kg and 150 kg. His result earned him third place in the event.
Thus, Armenia’s representatives continue their successful campaign at the European Youth Championships in Kosovo. The Armenian team currently has three silver medals in the total.
The competition continues, with more Armenian athletes set to take to the European stage in the coming days.
