Ashot Movsisyan — European U23 Weightlifting Champion

Armenian weightlifter Ashot Movsisyan has become the 2025 European U23 Champion in the super heavyweight category (+110 kg). The competition is taking place in Albania.
Movsisyan delivered an outstanding performance, winning gold in the clean and jerk and the total with 384 kg (168 kg snatch + 216 kg clean & jerk). In a close battle, he surpassed Ukrainian lifter Bohdan Khoza by just 1 kg.

Movsisyan took small bronze in the snatch and gold in the clean & jerk, securing the overall victory.
Thanks to this success, Team Armenia concludes the European Youth Championships with 7 major gold medals, ranking first in the combined standings among U20 and U23 athletes.
Turkey ranks second with 5 gold medals.
