Artur Gharibyan scores first goal for Rodina and helps the team reach the RPL (VIDEO)

Armenia U21 national team forward Artur Gharibyan scored his first goal for Rodina in the Matchday 33 game of the PARI League against Chelyabinsk.

Gharibyan started the match on the bench and came on in the 83rd minute. Just six minutes later, in the 89th minute, the Armenian forward was in the right place at the right time and scored his team’s second goal, sealing the final score at 2-0.

For Gharibyan, this was his sixth goal of the season. Earlier, he had scored while playing for Spartak Kostroma, and now he has opened his account for Rodina.

The victory over Chelyabinsk was historic for the Moscow club. Rodina secured direct promotion to the Russian Premier League for the first time in the club’s history and will play in the top division next season.

The first goal of the match came in the 25th minute. Chelyabinsk’s goalkeeper lost his position in goal, Artem Maksimenko quickly took advantage of the situation and passed the ball to Ivan Timoshenko, who finished accurately.

After that, the game did not feature many dangerous chances, but Rodina managed to strengthen their lead late on. Gharibyan calmly converted his opportunity and made the team’s victory more comfortable.

However, just one minute after scoring, the Armenian forward received a red card for his involvement in a fight. Due to the sending-off, he will miss the final match of the season.

It should be noted that Armenian footballer Arshak Koryan also plays for Rodina, but he did not take part in this match.

After Matchday 33, the two leaders of the PARI League — Fakel and Rodina — secured promotion to the Premier League. For Rodina, this is the club’s first promotion to the top division in its history.
