On the second day of the 2025 European Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship, five wrestlers represented Armenia, but only Artur Aleksanyan (97 kg) made it to the semifinals.
The 33-year-old Olympic champion from Armenia is confidently heading toward his eighth European title.
In the round of 16, Artur Aleksanyan defeated Estonia’s Richard Karlson with a score of 5:1, and in the quarterfinals, he overcame Italy’s Nikolos Kakhelashvili — 5:2.
Today, he will face Bulgaria’s Kiril Milov in the semifinal.
The semifinal bouts will begin at 17:45 Moscow time and 18:45 Yerevan time.
Slavik Galstyan (67 kg) and Samvel Grigoryan (82 kg) still have a chance to enter the repechage round if their opponents reach the final, while Karapet Manvelyan (60 kg) and Shant Khachatryan (72 kg) are out of medal contention.
It is also worth noting that today, in the final block, Karen Aslanyan (63 kg) and Malkhas Amoyan (77 kg) will fight for gold, while Manvel Khachatryan (55 kg) will compete for bronze.
The finals will begin at 19:00 Moscow time and 20:00 Yerevan time.
