Left-back Arsen Sadoyan from Yerevan’s Alashkert has received his first-ever call-up to the Armenia national football team. The 26-year-old defender previously represented only the country’s U21 side.
This season, Sadoyan has been one of the key players for Alashkert, the current leader of the Armenian Premier League, appearing in 9 matches and providing one assist.
National team head coach Yeghishe Melikyan has included Sadoyan in the squad for the upcoming October matches against Hungary and Ireland as part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
According to the Telegram channel InsideYAN, the call-up might be related to the situation with Nayir Tiknizyan, who is expected to miss the Ireland match due to visa issues.
Tiknizyan’s agent confirmed the player’s visa issue in Ireland
