MMA veteran Arsen Nersesyan (Lionheart Club) claimed a spectacular victory at OPEN FC 55 in Saint Petersburg, defeating Ivan Danilov (record: 9–4). This win marked Nersisyan’s 31st in his professional career (overall record: 31–20–1), and he has competed in 52 fights since his debut in 2015.
The 33-year-old Armenian fighter announced his retirement after the bout, fulfilling a promise he had made to his mother. Arsen took off his gloves and placed them in the center of the octagon.
The decision came as a surprise to many, especially considering Arsen’s fighting spirit and excellent form shown in his final bout.
Lionheart head coach Armen Gulyan reacted emotionally:
“Arsen, think about it again. We don’t want to lose such a fighter. If needed, we’ll even talk to your mom. The team needs you.”
Over the years, Nersesyan earned a reputation as one of the most hardworking and loyal fighters in the club. His journey is a true example of willpower, courage, and resilience.
