Legendary Armenian wrestler, now representing Argentina, Arsen Julfalakyan (77 kg weight class) has advanced to the final of the 2025 Pan-American Championship held in Monterrey, Mexico.
On his way to the decisive bout, Julfalakyan claimed two confident early victories — defeating opponents from Honduras (8:0) and Venezuela (9:0). In the final, he will face American wrestler Kamal Bey.
Notably, on this day, May 8, Arsen Julfalakyan celebrates his 38th birthday.

In the heavyweight category (130 kg), another Armenian wrestler, Eduard Soghomonyan, representing Brazil, will compete for a bronze medal. In the quarterfinals, he defeated a Chilean wrestler with a score of 4:1, but then lost to Cuba's Oscar Pino — who replaced Mijain Lopez — with a decisive 0:8. In the bronze medal match, Soghomonyan will face Venezuela’s Moisés Hellburg.
