Arsen Harutyunyan scores technical victory over Caleb Smith in RAF debut

Armenian freestyle wrestler Arsen Harutyunyan made a successful debut in the Real American Freestyle league. In the preliminary card of RAF 10, he defeated Puerto Rico’s Caleb Smith by technical superiority.

The bout ended in the second period with a 14:4 score in Harutyunyan’s favor. Smith started strongly and quickly earned four points, but the Armenian wrestler managed to restore the balance, took control of the match and confidently secured an early victory.

For Arsen Harutyunyan, this was his first appearance in the RAF league. His opponent, Caleb Smith, is a member of Puerto Rico’s national team and has already won a silver medal at the Pan-American Championships. It is possible that Harutyunyan and Smith could meet again in the future at World Championships.

RAF 10 takes place on June 14 in St. Louis, Missouri. Another Armenian representative, Arman Tsarukyan, will also compete on the main card against Tony Ferguson. The main event of the tournament will feature Khamzat Chimaev against Dillon Danis.
