Armenian karateka Norik Makaryan wins prestigious tournament in Venice

From December 7 to 9, the international Karate 1 Youth League tournament, organized by the World Karate Federation (WKF), was held in Venice. Hundreds of young athletes from around the world took part in the competition, including the Armenian national team, represented by ten karatekas in the U14, U17, U19, and U21 age categories.
Norik Makaryan won the only medal for the Armenian delegation, becoming the champion in the U14, under 40 kg division. The young karateka delivered a confident performance, successively defeating opponents from Ukraine, the USA, Italy, and Slovakia.
In the final match, Makaryan faced Muhammetoraz Gulov from Turkmenistan and secured a convincing 4:1 victory, claiming the gold medal of this prestigious tournament.
