Armenian Wushu Fighters Off to a Successful Start at the World Championship in Brazil

On September 3, the 2025 Wushu World Championship kicked off in Brasília, the capital of Brazil. On the very first day, the Armenian national team achieved brilliant results in Sanda – three Armenian athletes secured victories.
Avanes Zakaryan defeated his opponent from China.
David Vartanyan overcame a fighter from India.
Arsen Baghryan won against an athlete from the USA.
Tigran Gevorgyan lost to a competitor from Macau.
Thus, Team Armenia started the championship successfully and continues to confidently fight for medals.
The first competition day was also marked by a shocking incident: a Moroccan fighter lost consciousness after a blow from a Chinese athlete.
