Armenian chess players to continue the fight in the tiebreaks at the 2025 World Cup

In the fourth round of the FIDE World Cup 2025, Armenian grandmasters drew their classical games and will continue the battle in the tiebreaks.
Gabriel Sargsyan (rating 2616) finished 1:1 against U.S. grandmaster Awonder Liang (rating 2701). The outcome of their clash will be decided in tomorrow’s rapid games.
Shant Sargsyan (rating 2664) also ended his main mini-match with a 1:1 score, sharing points with German grandmaster Frederik Svane (rating 2640). The winner will be determined in tomorrow’s tiebreak.
Levon Aronian (rating 2728), representing the United States, confidently advanced to the fifth round after defeating Polish grandmaster Radosław Wojtaszek (rating 2660) with a score of 1.5:0.5.
Another U.S. representative, Samuel Sevian (rating 2701), finished his match against Italian player Lorenzo Lodici (rating 2572) with a 1:1 score. The decisive rapid round will also take place tomorrow.
The tiebreaks will begin on November 13 at 13:30 Yerevan time.
