Armenian Figure Skaters Start at Olympic Qualifier in Beijing

Armenian figure skaters have successfully begun their performances at the ISU Skate to Milano Olympic Qualification event in Beijing, which runs until September 21.
In pairs skating, Karina Akopova and Nikita Rakhmanin placed third in the short program with a score of 63.85 points. To secure an Olympic berth for the Milan 2026 Games, the duo needs to finish in the top five after the free skate. This marks Akopova and Rakhmanin’s first official performance for Team Armenia following their change of nationality.
In ice dance, Kristina Dobrosedova and Alessandro Pellegrini scored 52.27 points, placing them in 15th position.
Tomorrow, Armenian singles skater Semeon Daniliants will make his debut, presenting his short program.
Armenia is not represented in the women’s singles category. However, Russian skater of Armenian descent, Adeliya Petrosyan, took the lead in the short program with 68.72 points.
