Armenian judokas conclude their campaign at the World Cadet Championships in Ecuador

The Armenian national team has concluded its campaign at the 2026 World Cadet Judo Championships in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Armenian athletes won one silver medal at the tournament.
In the under-50 kg category, Karen Navasardyan defeated a representative of France before ending his campaign in the Round of 16.
In the under-55 kg category, Narek Davtyan reached the final and won the silver medal. On his way to the decisive bout, he claimed four victories over opponents from Italy, France, Azerbaijan and Ukraine.
Narek Nahapetyan (60 kg) won one bout against a French judoka before being eliminated in the Round of 16.
In the under-66 kg category, Sergey Gevorgyan and Artem Galstyan were eliminated after their opening bouts.
David Julhakyan (81 kg) claimed two victories, defeating representatives of Algeria and Slovenia. He lost in the quarterfinals and was then defeated in the repechage.
Thus, the Armenian national team finished the World Championships with one silver medal.
Russia topped the medal standings with 4 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals.
