Armenian athletes have completed their performances at the Judo Grand Slam series event held in Astana from May 9 to 11.
In the under 60 kg weight category, Ashik Andreyan lost in the first round to Kazakhstan's Magzhan Shamshadin.
In the under 73 kg category, Artak Torosyan failed to advance past the opening stage, losing to South Korean judoka Donghyeon Bae. In the same weight class, Georgios Markarian (Greece), Karen Galstyan, and Armen Agayan (both representing Russia) also exited the competition without reaching the medal rounds.
In the under 81 kg division, Grigoriy Pasevin (Armenia) began with a win over Chinese athlete Yu Xu but lost in the second round to Russia’s David Karapetyan, who will continue to compete for the bronze medal.
Team Armenia concluded the tournament without winning any medals.
