The Wrestling Federation of Armenia has officially confirmed the national team’s participation in the U17 World Championships, which will take place in Baku from July 27 to August 2.
Armenia will field a full team in the Greco-Roman competition, with wrestlers entered in all ten weight categories.

Armenia’s leading young Greco-Roman wrestlers will travel to Baku. The national team recently won seven medals at the U17 European Championships — two gold, two silver and three bronze.
The Armenian freestyle squad remains unchanged. Six wrestlers who finished second or third at the national championships will represent the country.

An initial Armenian entry list had previously appeared on the United World Wrestling website and included only freestyle wrestlers. None of them competed at the U17 European Championships or won the latest Armenian national championships, meaning that the team was effectively considered a reserve squad.
Armenian Greco-Roman wrestlers were absent from the initial entry list. The Wrestling Federation of Armenia has now confirmed both the team’s trip to Azerbaijan and the participation of a full Greco-Roman squad.
The U17 World Championships will begin in Baku on July 27.
