Armenia travel to Cyprus without Cancarevic and Shaghoyan

The Armenia national football team has travelled to Cyprus, where it will play its third match of the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League group stage.

Yeghishe Melikyan's side began its Group C2 campaign with two home matches and will now play two consecutive games away from home — against Cyprus and Montenegro.

A total of 24 players have travelled with the team.

Goalkeepers:
Arsen Beglaryan, Gor Matinyan, Aleksandr Mishiev.

Defenders:
Davit Terteryan, Erik Piloyan, Erik Simonyan, Georgiy Harutyunyan, Nair Tiknizyan, Hariton Ayvazyan, Argishti Petrosyan.

Midfielders and forwards:
Karlen Oganesyan, Ugochukwu Iwu, Narek Agasaryan, Karen Muradyan, Artem Bandikyan, Eduard Spertsyan, Karen Nalbandyan, Gor Manvelyan, Artur Serobyan, Edgar Sevikyan, Narek Grigoryan, Narek Oganesyan, Artur Miranyan, Artur Garibyan.

However, goalkeeper Ognen Cancarevic and winger Jirair Shaghoyan have not travelled with the team for the upcoming away matches. Both players had disappointing performances in Armenia's previous Nations League game against Montenegro in Yerevan.

Forward Araik Eloyan has left the senior national team camp and joined Armenia U21, where he will feature in the matches against Italy U21 and Montenegro U21.

Injured centre-back Julio Bueno will also miss both upcoming matches and did not travel with the squad to Cyprus.

In addition, Armenia will be without Artur Serobyan for the first away fixture. The forward will miss the match against Cyprus through suspension but will be available to face Montenegro.

The Cyprus vs Armenia match will take place on October 2, with kick-off scheduled for 20:00 Yerevan time.

After that, Yeghishe Melikyan's team will travel to Podgorica, where they will face Montenegro on October 5. Kick-off is scheduled for 22:45 Yerevan time.
