Armen Ambardzumyan: "Universitatea is a strong team, but we are 100% ready"

Ahead of the first leg of the UEFA Europa Conference League second qualifying round between Yerevan’s Ararat-Armenia and Romanian club Universitatea Cluj, the Armenian team’s captain Armen Hambardzumyan spoke at a press conference.

The match will take place on July 24 in Yerevan.

— Every coach has their own style and signature. We’re currently going through intensive training, and I already see the difference: players have become quicker—both in movement and in thinking. Vardan Minasyan had a completely different approach, while Tulipa’s is more European—based on power and speed, — Hambardzumyan said, commenting on working with new head coach Tulipa.

The captain also praised the team's new signings:

— We’ve got good new players and, most importantly, good people. We’ve been training together for a month now, we’ve become friends and understand each other well. I hope they’ll help us in the important matches.

According to Hambardzumyan, the team is in excellent shape going into the match:

— The whole team is in good physical condition. I think we are 100% ready. We’ve studied the opponent well—they’re a strong team, but I believe we’ll advance.
