Armenian freestyle wrestler Arman Musikyan (65 kg) claimed a bronze medal at the 2025 U20 World Wrestling Championships in Bulgaria. This is Armenia’s first medal at the U20 Freestyle Wrestling World Championships.
On August 19, in the bronze medal match, Musikyan secured a confident 4:0 victory over Ukraine’s Viktor Borokhan to climb the third step of the podium.
During the tournament, the Armenian wrestler defeated opponents from New Zealand and Uzbekistan but lost to Japan’s Reiji Uchida, who went on to win silver. The world champion in the 65 kg category was Luke Stanich of the United States.
Tomorrow, on August 20, two more Armenian wrestlers will fight for bronze through the repechage rounds — Sargis Begoyan (61 kg) and Razmik Yepremyan (86 kg).
