Arman Tsarukyan and Colby Covington will face each other in a freestyle wrestling match at RAF 11, which will take place on July 18 in Milwaukee.
The matchup was officially confirmed after RAF 09 in Dallas, where both fighters earned victories. Tsarukyan defeated Keilon Jimison by technical superiority, while Covington edged Chris Weidman in a close bout, winning 5-4 on points.
After Covington’s match against Weidman, Tsarukyan and Covington had a faceoff. The head of Real American Freestyle then confirmed that their meeting will take place at RAF 11.
Tsarukyan looked dominant in Dallas. The Armenian fighter beat Keilon Jimison 16-5 in the first period. With the score at 5-6, Arman attacked the legs, followed up with a series of scoring moves and secured an early victory.
Before facing Covington, Tsarukyan is set for another high-profile RAF appearance. On June 13, at RAF 10, Arman will take on former UFC interim champion Tony Ferguson.
The Tsarukyan vs. Covington clash is expected to be one of the most anticipated events of RAF 11. Both athletes are well known to MMA fans, but this time they will meet under freestyle wrestling rules.
