Yerevan’s Ararat secured their first victory of the current season after defeating BKMA 2-1.
Petros Alekyan and Patrick Handzongo scored for Ararat, while David Harutyunyan netted BKMA’s only goal with an impressive direct free kick.
For all three players, these were their first goals of the season. The strike was particularly special for 20-year-old Petros Alekyan, as it was his first-ever goal in Armenia’s top division.
Alekyan scored against his former club and chose not to celebrate the goal as a sign of respect for BKMA, the team he previously represented.
The victory gave Ararat their first three points of the season and helped them improve their position in the standings. After three rounds, the Yerevan club sit ninth with 3 points.
BKMA, meanwhile, have 1 point after three matches and occupy 10th place.
