FC Ararat-Armenia finished the 2024/25 season in second place in the standings, confidently securing the silver medals of the championship. In the final round, Vardan Minasyan’s team thrashed Yerevan’s Ararat 6-0, leaving no chance for rivals in the battle for European competition spots.
Their main competitor for second place, Urartu, lost 0-2 to Van in a parallel match. Before the final round, Urartu was only one point behind Ararat-Armenia and still had hopes for silver, but failed to capitalize on the opportunity. Van’s victory allowed them to finish the season in fifth place, just one point behind Pyunik, but it was not enough to qualify for European competitions.
The hero of the match for Ararat-Armenia was Marius Noubissi, who scored a hat-trick. The striker fell just two goals short of catching up with Gonçalo Gregório in the top scorer race. Other goals were scored by Ohanes Harutyunyan, Tenton Yenne, and Armen Ambartsumyan.
Ambartsumyan had an outstanding match, providing three assists in addition to his goal and finishing the season with 6 goals and 13 assists. Despite his impressive individual stats, the midfielder was left out of the national team squad.
As a result, Ararat-Armenia will enter the UEFA Europa Conference League in the second qualifying round. Urartu and Pyunik will begin their European campaigns from the first qualifying round. Armenian champions Noah will play in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.
