Ararat-Armenia beat Van ahead of trip to Romania for Europa League clash

Ararat-Armenia claimed their third consecutive victory at the start of the Armenian championship. In the third round, the team defeated Van 2-0.

Alioune Ndour and Arayik Eloyan scored the goals for the winners, while Zhirayr Shaghoyan and Hugo Oliveira provided the assists. Ararat-Armenia could have won by a wider margin, but Juan Balanta failed to convert a penalty.

Ndour extended his scoring streak, finding the net for the third consecutive match. For Eloyan, it was his second goal of the season.

After three rounds, Ararat-Armenia have a perfect nine points and sit top of the Armenian championship standings. Van, meanwhile, remain without a point after three matches.

Ararat-Armenia will now travel to Romania, where they will face Universitatea Craiova in the UEFA Europa League play-offs.
