Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Araik Harutyunyan, was the sole candidate in the elections for the presidency of Armenia’s Weightlifting Federation. He has been elected to this position for a term of 4 years.
Previously, the president of the federation was Hrachya Rostomyan.
The president of the International Weightlifting Federation, Mohamed Jaloud, attended the meeting of Armenia’s Weightlifting Federation, during which the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister, Araik Harutyunyan, was elected as the president of Armenia’s Weightlifting Federation.
“Weightlifting has a long-standing tradition in Armenia. Since the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, Armenia has always won Olympic medals. All this shows us that weightlifting holds a significant place in Armenia. It is a matter of pride for us that weightlifting occupies a leading position in Armenia,” Jaloud stated during the federation’s meeting, according to Armenpress.
