English refereeing team to officiate Hungary – Armenia match

The refereeing team that will work at the match of the third round of Group F of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers between the national teams of Hungary and Armenia has been announced. The game will take place on October 11 in Budapest, starting at 20:00 Yerevan time.

The VAR (Video Assistant Referee) system will be used during the match.

Refereeing team:

  • Referee: Chris Kavanagh (England)

  • Assistant referees: Dan Cook (England), Ian Hussin (England)

  • VAR referee: Darren England (England)

  • Assistant VAR referee: Andrew Madley (England)

  • Fourth official: Sam Barrott (England)

This season, Chris Kavanagh has officiated matches in the English Premier League, as well as the Champions League match between Inter and Slavia.

It is noted that the English referee is known for rarely showing red cards.

It should be reminded that the Armenia vs Portugal match was also officiated by an English refereeing team.
