English referee team to officiate Armenia – Portugal match

The referee team for the opening match of Group F in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers between Armenia and Portugal has been confirmed. The game will take place on September 6 in Yerevan, kicking off at 20:00 local time.

The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system will be in use for this match.

  • Referee: Anthony Taylor (England)

  • Assistant referees: Gary Beswick (England), Adam Nunn (England)

  • VAR: Peter Bankes (England)

  • Assistant VAR: Stuart Attwell (England)

  • Fourth official: Robert Jones (England)

This season, Anthony Taylor has already officiated three English Premier League matches, as well as a UEFA Champions League qualifier between Basel and Copenhagen.

Earlier this year, Taylor also refereed a match involving the Armenian national team: he was in charge of Georgia – Armenia (6:1) in Tbilisi.
