Swedish club Brommapojkarna have officially announced their separation from Armenian defender Andre Calisir following the expiration of his contract. The 35-year-old footballer has completed his time with the team, which he joined ahead of the 2023 season.
During his spell with BP, Calisir made 45 appearances and scored one goal. However, the 2025 season proved difficult for the experienced defender, as a long-term injury prevented him from making any appearances. Despite this, Calisir remained an active part of the club, supporting his teammates and the coaching staff.
In his farewell to Brommapojkarna, the player thanked the club, his teammates, and the fans for their time together, highlighting the warm atmosphere and the people who made this period of his career special.
BP sporting director Philip Berglund, in turn, emphasized that Calisir was an important figure within the squad, brought positive energy, and remained valuable even during his recovery from injury.
Andre Calisir is a former defender of the Armenia national team, for which he played from 2018 to 2024, earning 34 caps. Previously, he also represented Denmark’s Silkeborg, Greece’s Apollon Smyrnis, and Swedish clubs IFK Göteborg, Jönköpings Södra, and Djurgården.
“Andre is a very good person who is highly valued within the team. He contributed with his energy and helped create a positive atmosphere, even when he was injured. We would like to thank him for his time here and wish him all the best in the future,” said sporting director Philip Berglund.
Interestingly, in 2025 Calisir also began exploring opportunities off the pitch. In October, he worked as a coordinator for Sweden’s U16 national team during training camps, combining administrative duties with his status as an active player.
At the moment, Andre Calisir’s future remains open, with it still unclear whether he will continue his playing career or focus on working within football structures.
