Albert Aleksanyan Called Up to Latvia U21 National Team

Norrköping forward Albert Aleksanyan has received a call-up to the Latvia U21 national team for the Baltic Cup matches. The tournament will take place in Riga, where Latvia U21 will face Lithuania and Estonia. The matches are scheduled for June 5 and June 9.

For Aleksanyan, this call-up could become an important step in his international career. Sportaran previously reported that the player has been on the radar of three federations at once — Latvia, Norway and Armenia.

Albert Aleksanyan was born in Latvia but has lived in Norway since childhood. The footballer holds Latvian and Norwegian citizenship and is also eligible to represent Armenia through his origin. Until now, he had not been called up to any youth or U21 national team.

Aleksanyan is a versatile attacking player. His main position is left winger, but he is also comfortable playing on the right flank of the attack. Despite his impressive height of 193 cm, the footballer stands out for his speed, technique and ability to beat opponents one-on-one.

Last season, Aleksanyan played for Norwegian side Ull/Kisa and became the team’s second-best scorer as the club finished fifth in the league.

This winter, the forward moved to Swedish club Norrköping, which competes in the First Division. Aleksanyan has already recorded 2 goals and 1 assist in 12 matches for his new club.
