According to TheMatchMinute, two football federations — Armenia and Latvia — are closely monitoring the progress of 19-year-old forward Albert Aleksanjan, who has impressed in Norway.
Previously, Sportaran detailed Aleksanjan’s breakthrough season with Ullensaker/Kisa in the PostNord-ligaen Avd. 2, Norway’s third-tier division. The young Armenian forward, who joined the team in March 2025, quickly became a leader and one of the championship’s key discoveries.
Albert Aleksanjan was born in Latvia, has lived in Norway since childhood, holds Latvian and Norwegian citizenship, and is eligible to play for Armenia by descent. So far, he has not been called up to any youth or U21 national teams.
Despite his impressive height (193 cm), Aleksanjan stands out for his speed, technique, and versatility. His primary position is left winger, but he also performs confidently on the right flank. In the recently concluded season, he became the second top scorer for Ull/Kisa, which finished fifth in the league.
Albert Aleksanyan’s 2025 season stats:
- 10 goals — PostNord-ligaen
- 4 goals — reserve team (4th division)
- 2 goals — U19 championship
- 1 goal — Norwegian Cup
- Total: 17 goals, plus at least 6 assists.
Interest from the Latvian Football Federation makes the situation particularly sensitive. Considering his potential and rapid progress, the Football Federation of Armenia must act quickly to secure this talented player, who could soon reach a higher level and become a valuable asset for the national team.
After such a season, a move to a stronger league seems almost inevitable, and his international future may be decided soon.
