Alashkert and Kazakhstan’s Yelimay played out a draw in the first leg of the UEFA Conference League 2026/27 first qualifying round. The match in Yerevan ended 1-1.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 60th minute through Arsen Ashirbek. However, the Armenian side managed to respond late in the game. In the 86th minute, David Terteryan scored after a corner to secure a draw for Alashkert.
Remarkably, the lights at the Football Academy Stadium in Avan went out immediately after Terteryan’s goal. It took around seven minutes to restore the lighting before the match resumed.
Overall, Yelimay looked more active and created more dangerous chances. It was also clear that the Kazakhstan Premier League is currently in progress, while this was Alashkert’s first official match of the season. Vahé Gevorgyan’s team made many mistakes, but the Yerevan side showed character and avoided defeat.
Cesar and Domi Massumu made their debuts for Alashkert from the first minutes. Philip Edjike, Amadou Togola and Akop Akopyan also made their first appearances for the club after coming on as substitutes.
The return leg between Yelimay and Alashkert will take place on July 16 in Semey.
