Legendary Armenian boxer Israel Hakobkokhyan has joined a protest by political forces demanding that the results of the Armenian National Assembly elections be declared invalid.
The protest is taking place outside the building of the Central Electoral Commission. Hakobkokhyan attended the rally wearing a T-shirt with the image of Russian President Vladimir Putin and announced a hunger strike.

The day before, Hakobkokhyan lost the election for the presidency of the Boxing Federation of Armenia. A total of 92 voters took part in the vote. Incumbent federation president Hovhannes Hovsepyan received 81 votes, while Hakobkokhyan received 11.
Today it also became known that the Prosperous Armenia Party, with which the former boxer is associated, failed to enter parliament. Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission approved the final results of the National Assembly elections.
Voter turnout was 1,476,769 people, or 58.9%. According to the results, three political forces will enter parliament: the Civil Contract party with 49.745% of the vote, the Strong Armenia bloc with 23.271%, and the Armenia bloc with 9.923%.
The Prosperous Armenia Party received 3.9893% of the vote and failed to overcome the 4% threshold established by law. As a result, the political force will not be represented in the new composition of the National Assembly.
