Hovhannes Hovsepyan re-elected president of the Boxing Federation of Armenia

Hovhannes Hovsepyan has been re-elected as president of the Boxing Federation of Armenia. He secured a convincing victory in the election and will lead the federation for the next five years.
A total of 92 voters took part in the election. Hovhannes Hovsepyan received 81 votes. His opponent, legendary former boxer Israel Hakobkokhyan, received 11 votes.
As a result, Hovsepyan won by an overwhelming majority and will continue his work at the head of Armenian boxing.
Hovhannes Hovsepyan first became president of the Boxing Federation of Armenia in 2021. During his tenure, Armenian boxers have achieved major success on the international stage.
At world and European championships, Armenian boxers have won 219 medals, including 43 golds. The federation notes that this is more than the total achieved during the previous 30 years of independent Armenia.
In addition, Armenia has hosted several major international tournaments in recent years. The country has held the European Elite Boxing Championships, the U18 and U23 European Championships, as well as the U16 World Boxing Championships.
Hovsepyan’s re-election means the continuation of the current development course of Armenian boxing, which has experienced one of the most successful periods in its history in recent years.
