Hayk Movsisyan Wins Silver at U15 European Weightlifting Championships

Armenian weightlifter Hayk Movsisyan has won a silver medal at the European U15 Championships, currently taking place in Pristina, Kosovo.

Competing in the 70 kg weight category, Movsisyan finished second in all three standings. In the snatch, the Armenian successfully lifted 115 kg and 122 kg to claim silver in the event. In the clean and jerk, Hayk recorded 130 kg, once again finishing second. The title in this event went to a representative of Azerbaijan.

With a 252 kg total, Movsisyan became the U15 European vice-champion.

Another Armenian representative, Myasnik Karapetyan, also competed at the championships, taking part in the U17 65 kg category. In the snatch, he lifted 108 kg and 112 kg, while in the clean and jerk he successfully completed 133 kg and 137 kg.

With a 249 kg total, Karapetyan finished fifth. The European title in this weight category was won by a representative of Georgia.

Thus, Armenia currently has three silver medals in the total at the European Youth Weightlifting Championships taking place in Kosovo.
