Hayk Khloyan Reaches Final of Ranking Tournament in Hungary

On July 20, the fourth UWW Greco-Roman Wrestling Ranking Tournament continues in Budapest. On the final day of the competition, the finalists in the 55, 60, 63, 67, 72, 77, 82, and 97 kg weight categories were determined.
Team Armenia is represented by three wrestlers: Karen Aslanyan (63 kg), Samvel Grigoryan (82 kg), and Hayk Khloyan (97 kg).
Khloyan delivered the best performance among them, confidently advancing to the final and becoming the tournament’s biggest sensation in the 97 kg category. Replacing the absent Artur Aleksanyan, Khloyan defeated all his opponents en route to the final: Tomislav Brkan (Croatia), Markus Regginger (Austria), Abdikodir Jalilov (Uzbekistan), and Arvi Savolainen (Finland). In the final, he will face World Champion Giorgi Melia of Georgia.
Karen Aslanyan also reached the semifinals but lost to Vitalie Eremenco of Moldova. He will fight for a bronze medal.
Meanwhile, Samvel Grigoryan exited the tournament in the round of 16.

The finals and bronze medal matches will be held on the evening of July 20.
