19 Armenian Weightlifters to Compete at the 2026 European Junior and U23 Championships: Squad and Schedule

The 2026 European Junior (U20) and U23 Weightlifting Championships will take place in Durres, Albania, from October 12 to 19. Armenia will be represented by a strong delegation of 19 weightlifters competing for medals across various weight categories.
A total of 12 Armenian athletes will participate in the Junior (U20) Championships, including eight men and four women. Another seven athletes — six men and one woman — will compete in the U23 European Championships.
Armenia will be particularly well represented in the men's weight categories, with two Armenian weightlifters competing for medals in several divisions.
The first Armenian athletes will take to the platform on October 13, while the national team's participation will conclude on October 19 with the super-heavyweight competition.

Armenia Aims for a Successful Performance
Armenian weightlifters will compete in several heavyweight categories, which traditionally attract considerable interest from fans.
In particular, Grigor Ghazaryan will represent Armenia in the junior men's 110 kg category, while two Armenian athletes — Suren Grigoryan and Mnatsakan Abrahamyan — will compete in the men's 95 kg division at the U23 Championships.
The final Armenian athlete to compete will be Ashot Movsisyan, who will take to the platform on October 19 in the over 110 kg category.
The Senior World Weightlifting Championships are also scheduled to begin on October 27 in Ningbo, China.
