17-Year-Old Edgar Papoyan of Armenia Becomes World Street Workout Champion

Armenian athlete Edgar Papoyan has won the gold medal at the 2026 Street Workout World Championship, held in Riga from August 13 to 15.
The 17-year-old athlete won the Freestyle final in the middleweight category, finishing ahead of competitors from Ukraine and Israel.
The result is historic for Armenia: Papoyan became the country's first athlete to win a world championship title in street workout.
The 2026 World Championship brought together more than 170 athletes from over 50 countries in the Latvian capital.
The finals took place on August 15. Edgar Papoyan's victory marks one of the most significant international achievements for Armenia in street workout.
