16 teams from different countries to participate in Tour of Armenia

The international professional multi-day cycling race Tour of Armenia will bring together 16 teams from different countries around the world. The competition will take place from September 10 to 13 and will become one of the biggest international sporting events of the year in Armenia.

Each team will be represented by six cyclists. Among the participants will be athletes and teams from Japan, Italy, Kazakhstan, the United Kingdom, Thailand, Poland, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Germany and other countries. An Armenian team will also take part in the race.

More than 300 delegation members are expected to arrive in Armenia, including cyclists, coaches, team staff, referees and specialists involved in organizing the event.

The Tour of Armenia route consists of four stages. The total distance of the race will be 587 kilometers, with approximately 5,300 meters of total elevation gain. Cyclists will pass through the regions of Gegharkunik, Tavush, Lori and Aragatsotn, while the final stage will finish in Yerevan.

Race schedule:

• September 10 — Gavar – Mets Masrik (135 km)
• September 11 — Kirants – Stepanavan (176 km)
• September 12 — Martuni – Dilijan / Parz Lake (164 km)
• September 13 — Yerevan (110 km, 10 laps)

Armenia’s Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan highlighted the importance of hosting the tournament for the further development of cycling in the country and increasing Armenia’s international recognition.

Tour of Armenia is also considered an opportunity to showcase Armenia’s natural landscapes and tourism potential to an international audience. The race will follow scenic routes across the country — from the shores of Lake Sevan to the streets of the capital.

The organizers have already launched the official website of the competition, where information about the route, stages and participants has been published.

Tour of Armenia will be held as part of the UCI Europe Tour calendar in the 2.2 category.
