First U17 Freestyle Wrestling World Champions Crowned in Baku

The first champions of the 2026 U17 Freestyle Wrestling World Championships were crowned in Baku on August 1. The second day of competition featured the finals in the 48, 55, 65, 80 and 110 kg weight categories.
Two Russian wrestlers won world titles, while Kazakhstan, Colombia and Iran each claimed one gold medal.
The champions were Bakdaulet Agabek of Kazakhstan, Giovanni Tovar of Colombia, Magomed Ibragimov and Magomed Omarov of Russia, and Amirali Ferasati of Iran.
