Artur Nazaryan Elected President of the Basketball Federation of Armenia

An extraordinary meeting of the Basketball Federation of Armenia was held in Yerevan on July 29, during which Artur Nazaryan was unanimously elected president of the organization.

The meeting was attended by 33 of the federation’s 34 delegates. In an open vote, they unanimously approved the procedure for considering all items on the agenda.

The main item on the agenda was the election of the president of the Basketball Federation of Armenia. Artur Nazaryan, a candidate for the position, presented his vision for the development of Armenian basketball, outlined upcoming programs and key priorities, and then answered questions from the delegates.

Following the open vote, the delegates unanimously supported Artur Nazaryan’s candidacy.

Artur Nazaryan has worked with the Basketball Federation of Armenia for many years. He previously served as secretary general, coordinating the federation’s organizational, international, and development programs.

Nazaryan has served as a FIBA International Commissioner since 2012. In 2025, he also joined the prestigious FIBA Academy educational program, which brings together leading professionals in the field of sports management.
