Anna Ohanyan Discusses Noah’s Transfer Campaign and the Foreign-Player Limit

FC Noah Development Director Anna Ohanyan and club and Armenia national team player Aram Hamoyan appeared as guests on the morning television programme Aravot Luso. During the broadcast, they answered questions about the team’s current situation and preparations for the season.

One of the main topics of the conversation was the strengthening of Noah’s squad. Host Armen Garamyan asked whether the club had completed its transfer business and whether supporters should expect any further signings.

“I think further additions are still possible. However, we are currently facing a serious problem—the limit on foreign players. It is extremely difficult for a club with such ambitions to build a competitive squad under restrictions this strict. Moreover, the changes were introduced after the transfer window had already opened, when we had been planning the squad based on different regulations,” Anna Ohanyan said.

According to her, the club continues to work within the current conditions and is closely monitoring developments in the transfer market.

“For now, we have to work with what we have and see how the transfer campaign concludes. We have done everything possible to ensure that the team is ready for the entire championship,” Noah’s Development Director added.

The possibility of strengthening the squad by bringing in Armenian footballers currently playing abroad was also discussed. Ohanyan emphasised that the club is interested in signing high-quality Armenian players regardless of the foreign-player limit. At the same time, she believes that artificial restrictions of this kind do not contribute to the development of the domestic championship.

A decline in the league’s level could negatively affect its appeal to both foreign footballers and Armenian players competing abroad. Many of them still view a return to the Armenian championship as a backward step in their professional careers.

Despite the existing challenges, Noah continues to work actively in the transfer market. The club is considering both experienced, high-quality Armenian footballers and young, promising players capable of strengthening the team.
