Gold for Armenia: Suren Aghajanyan becomes U23 European Champion (VIDEO)

Armenian wrestler Suren Aghajanyan has become the 2026 U23 European Champion in Greco-Roman wrestling in the 60 kg weight category.
In the final of the tournament taking place in Zrenjanin, Serbia, Aghajanyan confidently defeated Georgia’s representative Giorgi Kochalidze. The match ended early with a score of 9:0 in favor of the Armenian athlete.
On his way to the gold medal, Aghajanyan delivered a dominant performance, winning all his bouts ahead of time. During the tournament he convincingly defeated opponents from Poland, Denmark, and France.
It should be noted that Suren Aghajanyan has previously been a U20 World Champion and U20 European Champion. His victory at the U23 European Championship is another achievement in his career and adds to his medal collection.
Thus, the Armenian national team won two gold medals in the Greco-Roman wrestling tournament. Earlier, Aramais Harutyunyan became the U23 European champion in the 130 kg weight category.
