Armenia Women’s National Team Lost to Belarus in 2027 World Cup Qualifiers
On April 14, a qualification match for the 2027 Women’s World Cup took place in Yerevan, where the Armenia women’s national team hosted Belarus. The match ended in a confident 3–0 victory for the visitors.
This game marked the debut of Armenia’s national team under new head coach Mariam Stepanyan. Despite home support, the Armenian side failed to challenge their opponents. Belarus completely controlled the match, significantly outshooting the hosts 19 to 4.
The scoring was opened in the 17th minute by Zarinka Kapustina. In the second half, Anastasia Shlapakova extended Belarus’ lead with a goal in the 57th minute. Viktoria Valyuk sealed the final result, making it a decisive win.
After two matches in Group C6, Armenia sits at the bottom of the table without points.
