On April 25, the 2025 European Sambo Youth Championships for athletes under 20 took place in Limassol, Cyprus. Russia topped the medal table with 10 golds, 3 silvers, and 1 bronze.

Armenian sambists also performed strongly, finishing second in the men’s standings with 1 gold, 2 silvers, and 3 bronzes. Mher Ohanyan (71 kg) became a champion for Armenia. Notably, Suren Fidanian (79 kg), an ethnic Armenian, also claimed gold representing Russia.
