One of the most prestigious freestyle wrestling events in Russia and the post-Soviet space—the 16th International Tournament in memory of Honored USSR Coach Dmitry Korkin—has concluded in Yakutsk. Over two days, top wrestlers from various regions of Russia, as well as Japan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Cuba, and other countries, competed for medals across ten weight categories. The tournament traditionally gathered a strong lineup and served as an important preparation stage ahead of major international competitions.

The event was held on November 15–16 and once again confirmed Yakutsk’s status as one of the global centers of freestyle wrestling. Spectators witnessed numerous intense bouts, unexpected outcomes, and convincing victories by local athletes, who demonstrated excellent readiness on home mats.
