Armenia U19 lost to Germany in the EURO 2026 qualifiers

The Armenia U19 national team started the EURO 2026 qualification round with a defeat. In the Group 12 opening match held on October 8 in Skien, Norway, Armenia lost 0–7 to Germany.
From the very first minutes, Germany took control and opened the scoring in the 16th minute through Otto Stange (SV Elversberg). Fourteen minutes later, Adin Licina (Bayern Munich) doubled the lead after a rebound inside the box. After halftime, Christian Wörns’ side continued to dominate — Mick Schmetgens (Werder Bremen, 55’), Francis Onyeka (VfL Bochum, 61’, 66’ — one from a penalty and one header), Alessandro Gaul Souza (Eintracht Frankfurt, 81’ — penalty), and Montrell Kalbre (Bayer Leverkusen, 90+2’) completed the rout.
After the match, Germany head coach Christian Wörns commented:
“It was difficult at first to find space against a compact opponent, but we stayed calm and achieved the expected result.”
