A Meeting of Generations: Stoichiță and Melikyan Spoke in Brussels Ahead of the Nations League Draw

In Brussels, on the eve of the UEFA Nations League 2026/27 draw, a warm meeting took place between former Armenia national team head coach Mihai Stoichiță and the current head coach of the national side, Yeghishe Melikyan.
The Romanian specialist led the Armenian national team in 2003–2004. During that period, the team played 10 matches under his guidance, recording 4 wins and 6 defeats. Notably, Yeghishe Melikyan was a regular member of the squad during Stoichiță’s tenure.
Today, Mihai Stoichiță serves as the technical director of the Romania national team and arrived in the Belgian capital as part of his country’s delegation.
The UEFA Nations League 2026/27 draw will take place today at 21:00 Yerevan time. Armenia will compete in League C, while Romania will begin the tournament in League B.
