After the UEFA Nations League match in Tbilisi between the national teams of Armenia and Georgia, an interesting photo was published from the corridors of the Dinamo Arena stadium.
After the game, Armenia’s forward Edgar Sevikyan and Georgia’s midfielder Giorgi Kochorashvili had a long conversation. Sevikyan was in a bad mood, while Kochorashvili tried to comfort his friend. In that match, Sevikyan scored a beautiful bicycle kick goal, but the Armenian national team suffered a heavy defeat — 1:6. Interestingly, Kochorashvili had also scored against Armenia in the first meeting between the teams in Yerevan.
Edgar and Giorgi have known each other since their time at the academy of the Spanish club Levante. It is also worth noting that Sevikyan's family is originally from Akhalkalaki, and he has often visited Georgia, which has strengthened their connection. Both players took their first steps in professional football at this club. They played together in Levante’s reserve team and made their La Liga debuts in 2020. Later, Edgar returned to Russia and is now an important player for Lokomotiv Moscow, while Kochorashvili stayed at Levante, became a key player, and is helping the team return to La Liga. After 31 rounds, Levante is leading the Segunda División standings.
