Witi scored for Mozambique, and Bruno Wilson played the full match against Sudan

Pyunik forward Witi scored for the Mozambique national team in their second match of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign against Sudan.

Mozambique claimed an emphatic 4-1 victory. Witi opened the scoring in the 24th minute. After the break, Chamito completed a brace, while Guima added another goal.

Ararat-Armenia defender Bruno Wilson also started for Mozambique and played the full match. It was only the second international appearance for the 29-year-old. Wilson received his first senior Mozambique call-up for September's AFCON qualifying matches.

After two rounds, Mozambique have collected four points in Group J. They drew 1-1 with Senegal in their opening match, while Sudan began their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Ethiopia.

Witi and Bruno Wilson both moved to the Armenian Premier League in the summer of 2026. Witi has been representing Mozambique for some time, while the current international window marked Wilson's first involvement with the senior national team.

Wilson was born in Portugal and previously represented the country at youth and U21 level. He became eligible to play for Mozambique through his family roots. His grandfather, Mário Wilson, was born in Mozambique, was a well-known footballer and later coached Benfica and the Portugal national team.

Following the match, reports emerged that the Sudanese side intended to challenge Bruno Wilson's eligibility to represent Mozambique. However, there is currently no official confirmation in publicly available sources that a case has been registered with CAS, so the issue should be treated cautiously until an official statement is issued by the federation or the court.
