The head coach of the Georgian national team, Willy Sagnol, shared his expectations ahead of the Nations League play-off match against Armenia. Speaking at the pre-match press conference, he emphasized that his team is ready for a tough encounter.
"We are expecting a difficult match. The game against Armenia has the character of a derby, and we understand how important this match is. All the players of the Georgian national team are motivated and determined to achieve a positive result," said Sagnol.
The French specialist also assessed Armenia’s new head coach, John van 't Schip, who recently took charge of the team.
"I am familiar with his work with the Greek national team, and I also know that he was part of Ajax’s coaching staff. He is an experienced specialist, and his appointment can have a positive impact on Armenian football. The Armenian national team has always played interesting football over the past 15–20 years. Yes, the team is going through a difficult period now, but the new coach is capable of changing the situation," noted Sagnol.
The Armenia vs. Georgia match will take place on March 20 and will start at 21:00 Yerevan time. In Armenia, the game will be broadcast live on "Fast Sport" TV, while in Russia, it will be shown on OKKO TV.
