Armenian freestyle wrestler Vazgen Tevanyan competed in his next bout at Pro Wrestling League 2026, which is being held in Noida, India.
Representing the Maharashtra Kesari team, Tevanyan faced reigning bronze medalist of the Azerbaijan Championship Ali Rahimzade, who competes for Tiigers of Mumbai Dangals. The bout ended with a 5:2 victory for the Armenian athlete.
The outcome was decided in the final moments. With the score tied at 1:1, Tevanyan was trailing by the last-point criterion and was on the verge of defeat. An activity time had also been recorded against the Armenian wrestler, meaning he would have lost 1:2 if he failed to score. However, Vazgen managed to earn the decisive points in the closing seconds and snatch victory.
Earlier in the league, another Armenian representative — Arman Andreasyan (74 kg), competing for UP Dominators — suffered a 5:12 defeat against Indian wrestler Chandermohan from the Punjab Royals team.
It should be noted that Pro Wrestling League (PWL) is a professional wrestling league founded in 2015. The last season took place in 2019, and the league officially resumed operations in 2026.
