Armenian freestyle wrestler Vazgen Tevanyan (70 kg) will take part in India’s professional Pro Wrestling League (PWL). He will represent the Mumbai-based team Maharashtra Kesri, whose name refers to an ancient Indian traditional wrestling heritage.
Founded in 2015, Pro Wrestling League quickly became one of the most spectacular wrestling leagues in Asia. The last season of the tournament was held in 2019, after which the league went on a hiatus. Starting from 2026, PWL officially resumes its activities.
Another representative of Armenia, freestyle wrestler Arman Andreasyan, will also compete in the Indian league. He will defend the colors of the Up Dominators team in the 74 kg weight category.
Six teams will participate in the new season of Pro Wrestling League. The competition will follow a match-based format, with the tournament scheduled to begin on January 15. Previously, Armenian wrestlers had not taken part in this league.
